My Story

Hi, I'm Brian Rooney. Growing up in Mississauga in the 1980s was like living in an adventure-filled playground. We had family vacations to the Caribbean that stirred my love for exploring. My happiest days were spent outside riding bikes, swimming or playing sports with my friends.

Back then, I dreamed of becoming a professional athlete. That life was never meant for me, but the love of sports and competition never left.

After high school, I attended St. Francis Xavier University in Antigonish, Nova Scotia. I studied business, and after school, I started working in the Insurance Industry.

In 2005, I moved to Orangeville and quickly fell in love with small town living. Orangeville is where I met my wife, where we started our family and where we continue to live today.

After over ten years in insurance, I was blindsided losing my job in 2010. It was a wake-up call that pushed me to reevaluate my direction. I partnered with some family, and we made an investment in real estate that changed things for me. It was supposed to be a passive investment while I figured out what to do next.

That first investment was a gateway to real estate. Soon, our portfolio grew, and I was investing, renovating, and managing our rentals full-time. But we reached a limit in that business. Once all the big renovations were done, I was ready for my next challenge.

Real estate had given me a second career as an investor and now it was time to help others with their own real estate dreams. I love helping people find homes where they can build their lives.

Now, with my SMART Move System, I help empty nesters in Dufferin County downsize into homes that match their lifestyle.
