All Weekend Long
If you haven’t had a chance to check out Across The Pond this is the last weekend to check out the show at the Orangeville Opera House. There are shows Friday and Saturday evening and Sunday afternoon. This show, starring Leisa Way and The Lonely Hearts Club Band, celebrates Celebrate 50 years of British pop & rock music from familiar hits of the 60’s to today’s biggest stars. Saturday
If you want to sign your children up for spring and summer activities head over to Alder Recreation Centre Saturday between 10:00 am and 2:00 pm for Central Registration. You can get information and register for many of the activities available this Spring and Summer through the Town of Orangeville and from several other groups including, Orangeville Minor Baseball, Theatre Orangeville, Camp Celtic, Orangeville Ball Hockey, Orangeville Minor Lacrosse, Lorne Scots Cadets, Orangeville Minor Soccer, Orangeville Outlaws Football and Orangeville Minor Softball. If you are interested in giving archery a try, check out the Archery Experience at the Archers of Caledon from 9:30 – 11:00 am or from 11:30 am – 1:00 pm on Saturday. This event is for ages 12 and up and will give participants the opportunity what archery is about. For more information or to register check out archersofcaledon.org.
If you are in Grand Valley and have a young child or children stop by 21 Main for their 4-leaf clover hand painting workshop. This workshop runs from 1:00 – 5:00 pm, check out their website 21main.ca for event details and for information about other workshops they are hosting.
The Orangeville Roller Girls season home opener is Saturday at the Orangeville Fair Grounds. Doors open at 5:00 pm and matches begin at 6:00 pm and 8:00 pm. For advance tickets and more information check out www.ticketscene.ca.
Feeling a little creative on Saturday check out the Monthly Card Workshop, hosted by Random Jumble of Scraps. This event is from 1:00 – 3:00 pm and you will make 3 greeting cards, check out the Facebook event page for more details.
Sunday
The Big Stir hosted by the Soup Sisters Orangeville/Dufferin and Lavender Blue Catering will take place on Sunday in support of National Soup it Forward Day. At this event participants will make soup which will be donated to Family Transition Place, Choices Youth Shelter and The Lighthouse. Sessions are being held from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm, 2:00 to 4:00 pm and 5:00 to 7:00 pm at the Community Living Dufferin building on County Road 3. If you are in Shelburne on Sunday head to Centre Dufferin Recreation Complex for a free public skate from 1:00 – 2:00 pm. This event is sponsored by my colleague at Royal LePage RCR Ken Bennington.
