March Break is almost over and the Kids will be back to their regular schedule next week. Here are some family friendly events going on Around Orangeville this weekend to get you through to Monday.

Friday and Saturday

If you enjoy Maple Syrup head over to Island Lake Conservation Area on Friday and Saturday from 10:00 am – 4:00 pm for the annual Maple Syrup Festival. This is always a family favourite event, with activities for everyone to enjoy. There will be live entertainment, demonstrations, face painting, wagon rides, local vendors, axe throwing and of course real maple syrup and pancakes! Also Friday and Saturday the Peel District School Board is hosting the Maple Syrup Sugar Bush in Caledon at Jack Smythe Field Study Centre. This event runs from 10:00 am – 3:00 pm both days and you can enjoy the beauty and wonder of nature as spring blossoms. Friday

Friday night at the Orangeville Opera House check out a Buddy Holly Tribute. See Vancouver native Zachary Stevenson play the music of Buddy Holly, the show starts at 7:00 pm go to theatreorangeville.ca for more information and show tickets.

Saturday

At Pottery Parties Studio on Mill Street from 10:00 am – noon for the Unicorn Sparkle Workshop and from 1:30 – 3:30 pm you can check out the Galaxy Workshop. In both workshops you can paint a variety of ceramic items. Check out the event page on Facebook for more information.

The Orangeville Public Library will be showing Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs 2 for the Saturday Movie Matinee at 2:00 pm. Bring some snacks and the whole family and enjoy this movie for free at the Mill Street Library.

Come on out to Tony Rose Area on Saturday night for the Big Game between the Orangeville Wolves hockey team and the Orangeville Police Service. The game starts at 7:00 pm tickets are $5.00 and are available at the door. For more information about the event go the event page on Facebook.

If you are a fan of Creedence Clearwater Revival you should get to the Orangeville Opera House to hear CCR Tribute band Green River Revival on Saturday night. They will play all the hits from CCR and John Fogerty. The show stars at 8:00 pm for more information and tickets go to theatreorangeville.ca.

Sunday

The Great Canadian Butter Tart Fest will be at the Orangeville Fairgrounds on Sunday from 10:00 am – 4:00 pm. I love Butter Tarts so I will not be missing this one. Top bakers from across Ontario come together to compete for the title of Canada's Best Butter Tart. Check out the event page on Facebook for more information.

Before you go to indulge in Butter Tarts head over to Cycling Elements located at 2 Wellington Street from 10:00 am – 2:00 pm for their Annual Bike Swap.  Bring in your used bikes and the folks at Cycling Elements will find them new home or stop by for a great deal on a used bike for yourself.
