Valentines Day is Friday, depending on when you are reading this, guys there is still time to get out and get your wife a gift. It’s also Family Day Long weekend, so there are a lot of things going on over the weekend especially on Monday so get out and have some fun with your loved ones.
All Weekend Long
The Island Lake Ice Fishing Derby continues this weekend through Monday when the prizes will be awarded. Register and take your shot at catching the big one. Prizes will be awarded for the largest fish in a number of categories. For more details go to cvc.ca.
Theatre Orangeville will be presenting the World Premiere of Early Morning Rain - The Legend of Gordon Lightfoot, opening this weekend at the Orangeville Opera House. Friday
Friday Night the Headwaters Racquet Club will be hosting another Kids Night Out - Valentines Day Party from 5:30 – 8:30 pm. The Credit Valley Conservation will be hosting Terra Cotta’s Moonlight Event at Terra Cotta Conservation Area on Saturday evening from 6:00 – 9:30 pm. Come out and enjoy an evening of skating, snowshoeing and skiing under the stars. For more details go to cvc.ca.
Sunday
The YMCA Cedar Glen Outdoor Centre in Schomberg will be hosting a Free Family Fun Day on Sunday from 10:00 am – 4:00 pm. There will be many outdoor and indoor activities for all ages including an outdoor maze, scavenger hunt, ropes course, crafts, tobogganing and snowshoeing. For more details go to ymcagta.org
If you are in the Grand Valley area, you can enjoy Free Family Skating on Sunday from 2:30 – 4:00 pm at the Grand Valley District Community Centre. Join the Quest for Cakes Bakery for Cookie Decorating with Elsa at the Westminster United Church in Orangeville on Sunday from 2:00 – 3:00 pm. Quest for Cakes has teamed up with A Dream is a Wish Princess Parties to bring Elsa from Frozen to decorate cookies and enjoy a fun time with your kids. Sunday at the Alton Mill you can check out some talented artists in Art Battle from 2:00 – 5:00 pm. In this event, you can watch as the artists compete in timed rounds to produce the winning piece of art. Monday
The Town of Orangeville will be hosting a fun Family Day event at the Alder Street Recreation Centre, on Monday from 11:00 am – 3:00 pm. Bring the family for free skating and swimming, face painting, crafts, Family Zumba and cartoon characters at the library. For more details go to orangeville.ca.
Monday you can enjoy Family Fun Day at Island Lake Conservation Area from 10:00 am – 3:00 pm. Bring your whole family and access and enjoy some of the great activities that are available including ice skating on the lake, snowshoeing, fat bikes, crokicurl and learn to ice fish. Monday the Rotary Club of Erin will be hosting a Family Fun Day at Centre 2000 in Erin from 11:00 am – 5:00 pm. There will be family staking, face painting, carnival games and free family movie. Go to the Facebook event page for more details.

The Shelburne Police Service will be hosting the Polar Plunge on Monday from 11:30 am – 3:00 pm at Fiddle Park in Shelburne as part of Shelbrrr Fest.
