This weekend you have some great options for things to do with the whole family. The forecast is for great weather so get out and enjoy some of these great events in our communities.
The Heritage Music Festival in Shelburne started Wednesday and continues through Sunday at Fiddle Park. Come out and enjoy some great music and including the Canadian Open Old Time Fiddle Championships on Saturday. The Washboard Union will be in concert Friday Night and there are a number of other events as part of the festival. The 74th Annual Fergus Scottish Festival and Highland Games runs from Friday to Sunday. Come out and enjoy Scottish traditions, music and the Highland Games. Friday nights entertainment will feature Ashley MacIsaac, and there will be great entertainment the whole weekend. This isn’t exactly local but it is a fun event that has something for everyone in your family, we went last year and had a great time. The Alliston Potato Festival is going on all weekend Friday – Sunday at the Alliston Fairgrounds. There will be some great events for the family, a midway with carnival rides and great food. Go to allistonpotatofestival.com for a full schedule of what is going on in Alliston this weekend.
The Teen Advisory Group will meet on Friday from 4:00 – 5:30 pm at the Orangeville Public Library on Mill Street. You can meet with other teens in the community and help plan some child and youth programing that will be available in our community while earning your community service hours. Friday night join the Bolton Community Crew for Bolton Midnight Madness. Head to Bolton from 6:00 pm – Midnight and enjoy family entertainment, music and great food in the downtown or head to the fairgrounds for the car show. Saturday mornings are for the Orangeville Farmers Market, from 8:00 am – 1:00 pm in downtown Orangeville. Come on down and support all the great local vendors that make this market so special. Help create the Fairy Circle for Theatre Orangeville’s production of A Midsummer’s Night Dream on Saturday morning from 9:00 am – 12:00 pm. You can stop by Town Hall and help paint a mushroom that will be used to create the Fairy Circle in the upcoming production. Go to the Facebook event page for more details.
Saturday is the rescheduled Kids Day at the Caledon Equestrian Park from 11:00 am – 3:00 pm. Come by the Equestrian Park for a day of family fun and the horse show. Go to the Facebook event page for more details about this event.
On Saturday from 11:00 am – 7:00 pm come out to Official Gents Barbershop for the OG Barbering - Summer Social. There will be music, food, games and fun for the whole family. For more details check out the Facebook event page for more details about this event.
Blackstock Ford will be hosting it’s Second Annual Show and Shine at their dealership on Saturday from 11:00 am – 3:00 pm. This is a Mustang focused show but all Ford owners are welcome to stop by and show off their vehicles. There will be music, BBQ lunch and door prizes. Saturday from 10:00 am – 4:00 pm stop by the Erin Legion for a Classic Car Show. There will be classic cars, trucks and tractors for you to see, and BBQ for you to enjoy. Go to the Facebook event page for more details about the show.
God’s Closet will be hosting another Free Shop Day on Sunday from 12:00 – 2:30 pm at the Seventh Day Adventist Church on Hockley Road. Just pay a $1 entrance fee at the door and you can select as much children’s clothing as you need.
