With Christmas just around the corner, there are some great events going on in our communities this weekend. If you aren’t planning on spending the whole weekend shopping for Christmas gifts be sure to get out and enjoy some family fun.

All Weekend Long

Christmas in the Park continues at Kay Cee Gardens Park in Orangeville every night from 5:30 – 10:00 pm until December 31. Thank you to the Orangeville Optimists Club and all the sponsors for putting together such an amazing display for our community. Holiday Treasures Art and Craft Sale continues until Sunday at the Museum of Dufferin. Be sure to stop by and find a unique gift for someone on your Christmas list. Go to the Facebook event page for more details.

Theatre Orangeville's production of Little Women continues its run at the Orangeville Opera House this weekend with shows Friday through Sunday. This show has received some great reviews and tickets are selling fast for the remaining performances. Pictures with Santa

Santa will be returning to Pottery Parties Studio in the Mill Street Mall this weekend. Stop by Saturday or Sunday and take advantage of the great backdrop and have your pictures taken with Santa. Go to the Facebook event page for more details.

Santa will be returning to Alder Recreation Centre this weekend and will be available Friday through Sunday using the setting from the Orangeville Mall. Stop by and get your kids photos taken. Go to the Facebook event page for times and more dates for pictures with Santa.

 If you want to get your pets picture taken with Santa you can go to 10 and 10 Garden Centre on Saturday and Sunday. Photos with Santa will be free of charge with a donation to the Orangeville Food Bank, Toys for Tots, or the Silver Willow Animal Sanctuary. Go to the Facebook event page for more details.

Friday

The Orangeville Library Teen Advisory Group meets on Friday at 4:00 – 5:30 pm at the Mill Street Library. This is a great opportunity for teens to get involved in their community and help the Library with the programs that they offer to our community. For more details go to orangeville.ca.

The Orangeville Racquet Club will be hosting a Kids Night Out Christmas PJ Party on Friday from 5:30 – 8:30 pm. This event for children ages 4 – 12 will feature crafts, games pizza dinner, snacks and Christmas movie to wrap it up. Go to the Facebook event page for more details.

Friday Night at the Orangeville Fairgrounds join Party Rockers Entertainment for the Orangeville Youth Dance Fundraiser. Doors open at 7:00 pm and the party goes till 10:00 pm. This party is for youth ages 7 – 13 and will have great music, dancing, games and prizes. Go to partyrockers.ca for tickets and more info.

If you are looking for a unique and fun experience for you whole family you can go to the Lord Dufferin Centre on Friday from 6:30 – 7:30 pm and join the Christian Fellowship Church to sing Christmas Carols to all the residents. This should be a lot of fun and your kids could come out and bring some holiday joy to the seniors at the Lord Dufferin Centre. Go to the Facebook event page for more details.

Saturday

Saturday the Grand Valley Home Hardware will be hosting a Kids Shopping Day from 10:00 am – 2:00 pm. Bring the kids for some fun activities including crafts and gingerbread cookie decorating and your kids can pick up some great gifts for under $10 while at the store. Saturday you can go to the Brampton Fairgrounds for the Brampton Fair Christmas Sale from 10:00 am – 4:00 pm. You can find some unique handmade gifts from a great selection of vendors; admission is a $2.00 donation to the local food bank. For more details go to bramptonfair.com.

Saturday at Orangeville Town Hall you can come out for the Orangeville Winter Farmers Market from 10:00 am – 1:00 pm. Come out and see all your favourite vendors at the market and pick up some tasty treats or some Christmas Gifts while you are there. Saturday from 2:00 – 4:00 pm you can go to the Museum of Dufferin for Family Photos for the Food Bank. Bring a non-perishable food donation for the Shepherd’s Cupboard Food Bank in Shelburne and you can have a family photo taken at the Museum.  Go to the Facebook event page for more details.

The Grand Valley Public Library will be hosting a Gingerbread House Making Workshop on Saturday with two sessions one from 1:00 – 2:00 pm and a second from 2:30 – 3:30 pm. You can bring your family out and decorate a gingerbread house. All supplies and candies will be provided by the Grand Valley Lions Club. Saturday evening go to the Town of Alton for their Annual Tree Lighting Ceremony starting at 5:00 pm. Enjoy seeing the tree lighting, singing Christmas Carols, meeting Santa and some holiday treats. Go to altonvillage.org for more details.

Sunday

Sunday from 12:00 – 2:00 pm you can go to Boston Pizza Orangeville for Lunch with Santa. You can bring your kids out to meet Santa, have a photo taken and enjoy some great food. For more information go to the Facebook event page.

Sunday you can go to Stable 71 in the Dundalk area for their December Open Bran Event from 11:00 am - 3:00 pm. You will be able to meet the horses, feed them treats and check out the silent auction. Admission is free and you can go to the Facebook event page for more details.

Sunday from 9:00 – 11:00 am at the Hillsburgh Arena you can have Breakfast With Santa. Stop by for breakfast, photos with Santa, face painting and a vendor market. Go to tickettailor.com to buy your tickets.

Join the Theatre Orangeville Youth Singers (TOYS) on Sunday and Monday evening for their production of Rebel Without a Claus. This show features some very talented young singers and some great holiday music as the show will make you fall more in love with the season and meaning of Christmas.
