Tis the season for holiday events, and they continue this weekend. There is a great selection of family-friendly events going on in our communities this weekend hope you can get out and enjoy some family time.

All Weekend Long

Christmas in the Park opens on Friday night at 6:30 pm in Kaycee Gardens Park in Orangeville and will be open nightly until December 31. The Optimists Club of Orangeville and all the sponsors create such amazing displays each year for the whole family to enjoy. For more details go to orangevilleoptimists.ca.

Theatre Orangeville’s production of Little Women continues at the Orangeville Opera House this weekend with shows Friday through Sunday. Come out and check out this great production of this classic story. For Showtimes and tickets go to tickets.theatreorangeville.ca.

The Holiday Treasures Arts and Crafts Sale continues at the Museum of Dufferin this weekend and will continue until December 15. Stop by and find some unique gifts for the people on your Christmas list. Go to dufferinmuseum.com for more details.

Photos with Santa

Santa will be at the Alder Recreation Centre Friday through Sunday for your children to get their photos with Santa. Come out and get a photo with Santa and you can buy photo packages from F Stop Orangeville. Check out the Facebook event page for times.

Pottery Parties Studio will be hosting Photos with Santa again this weekend on Saturday and Sunday at their shop in the Mill Street Mall. Stop by and get your photos taken with this beautiful backdrop and have a great photo of the kids. For more details go to the Facebook event page.

Friday

Friday morning join the Orangeville Public Library with your small children (ages 5 and under) for Stories with Santa at 10:30 am at the Mill Street Branch. Come and listen to Santa read some stories and take a home a book for your little ones. For more details about the event go to orangeville.ca.

Join the Bolton Community Crew for Christmas in the Village in Bolton on Friday Night from 6:00 – 9:00 pm. Take part in the tree lighting ceremony, enjoy some live music, and visit with Santa. Go to the Facebook event page for more details.

Saturday

Saturday is the Santa Claus Parade in Shelburne. The parade starts at 5:00 pm but there are fun activities all day you can head to Jack Downing Park at 1:00 pm to meet Santa and be one of the helpers to pick the best-decorated business window downtown. Santa will be available for pictures from 2:00 – 4:00 pm and then the parade starts at 5:00 pm. For more details check out the Facebook event page.

Saturday is the Kinsmen of Bolton Santa Claus Parade starting at 11:00 am. Come out and welcome Santa to town with some great bands and many entries in the parade running along highway 50. It should be a fun day for the family. Go to boltonkin.com for more information.

The Rotary Club of Palgrave will be hosting the Palgrave Christmas Tree Lighting on Saturday from 5:30 – 7:00 pm at Stationlands Park. Come out and celebrate the season with refreshments arts and crafts and the annual tree lighting ceremony. Go to the Facebook event page for more details.

Saturday go to the Princess Margaret Public School Christmas Craft Fair from 9:00 am – 3:00 pm. You can check out over 50 local vendors offering a variety of items, the silent auction, and bake sale. For more details go to the Facebook event page.

Landman Gardens and Bakery will be hosting a Christmas Open House on Saturday from 10:00 am – 4:00 pm at the farm near Grand Valley. Be sure to come out and try some samples and come away with some delicious baked goods, chutneys, jams, pickles and so many other items they produce. For more details go to the Facebook event page.

Community Living Dufferin will be hosting a Christmas Craft Sale on Saturday from 9:00 am – 1:00 pm at their facility on County Road 3. There will be a selection of vendors offering a variety of holiday gift ideas for you to choose from. Go to the Facebook event page for more details.

Spencer Avenue Public School is hosting their 6th Annual Holiday Fair on Saturday from 10:00 am – 2:00 pm. Stop by and pick up some holiday gifts and support the school’s fundraising initiatives. Go to the Facebook event page for more details.

Saturday in Shelburne you can check out the With These Hands Craft Sale at Dufferin Oaks from 11:00 am – 4:00 pm. All the vendors will be selling handmade crafts and you can check out the great raffle prizes to be won. For more details go to the Facebook event page for more details.

Dragonfly Arts on Broadway will be hosting an Anniversary Event on Saturday from 1:00 – 4:00 pm at their store. Be sure to stop by and check out some art demonstrations, and check out the unique items they have for sale, maybe pick up a gift for someone on your Christmas list. On Saturday stop by Art With Jada in the Mill Street Mall for Drop-in Ornament Making at the studio from 11:00 am – 4:00 pm. Stop by and make your own Christmas Ornaments for your tree. For more details go to artwithjada.ca.

Head to the Shelburne Home Hardware for the Kids Shopping Day and Selfies with Santa on Saturday from 10:00 am – 2:00 pm. Sunday

Sunday at the Erin Legion you can check out the Christmas is the Gift of Giving Christmas Craft and Vendor Sale from 10:00 am – 4:00 pm. You can shop from some great local vendors and pick up a unique gift for the people on your holiday shopping list. Go to the Facebook event page for more details.

The 2019 Egg Nog Jog will take place on Sunday at the Albion Hills Conservation Area, registration starts at 9:00 am. Take part in the 5km or the 10km distance and help C3 Cross Training to raise funds for some of their young athletes. Go to c3online.ca for more information.

If you are looking for some holiday music check out Christmas Traditions by the Caledon Concert Band at the Caledon East Recreation Complex on Sunday starting at 2:00 pm.
