I hope everyone has recovered from the ice storm of 2020 last weekend. This weekend there are some great events going on in our communities highlighted by the Fire and Ice Festival at the Alton Mill. Hope there is something for you and your family to get out and enjoy.
All Weekend Long
Orangeville Music Theatre’s production of Mamma Mia! continues at the Orangeville Opera House this Friday through Sunday. This is your last chance to check out this great production celebrating the music of ABBA. Tickets are selling fast so get yours at orangevillemusictheatre.com.
Friday
Friday evening join Pottery Parties Studios in the Mill Street Mall for their Friends Workshop starting at 6:30 pm. You can come out with your friends and have a great time creating some ceramics with a Friends theme. Space is limited so contact the Studio to register and see the Facebook event page for more details.
Saturday
Join the Alton Mill for the Fire and Ice Festival on Saturday from 10:00 am – 8:00 pm. Come down to Mill and celebrate the winter with a variety of events including ice sculpting, the super snow slide, music, art, and food and drinks. Go to altonmill.ca for more details.
The Alton Mill Pond Hockey Classic runs on Saturday from 8:00 am – 2:30 pm and is part of the Fire and Ice Festival at the Alton Mill. Come out and see some great hockey and show your support for this great event. For more information go to altonmillpondhockey.ca.
Saturday join the Orangeville Public Library for a Family Movie Matinee showing of Abominable at 2:00 pm. Bring your family and some snacks for the screening and this fun family movie about a young Yetti. Go to orangeville.ca for more details.
Saturday come to Island Lake Conservation Area for their first Island Lake Moonlight Event of 2020 from 6:00 – 9:30 pm. This event is dependent on the weather so be sure to check the CVC website before going. Bring the family and enjoy a moonlight snowshoe around the trails or put on your skates and glide across the lake under the moonlight. When you are done you can warm up by the campfire with some hot chocolate and roasted marshmallows. For more information about the evening event go to cvc.ca.
The 4th Annual Shelburne Health and Wellness Expo is on Saturday from 10:00 am – 2:00 pm at the Centre Dufferin District Secondary School. Come out and meet local health professionals, take part in demos and workshops and check out local vendors. Admission is free, go to the Facebook event page for more details.
Sunday
Sunday enjoy Free Public Skating at the Centre Dufferin Recreation Complex from 1:00 – 2:00 pm. This week you can meet the members of the Shelburne Town Council as they will be there to skate and discuss all things Shelburne. Please remember to bring a non-perishable food item for donation to the Shepherds Cupboard Food Bank. Go to the Facebook event page for more details.
Sunday, join MPP Sylvia Jones for a Free Family Skate at the Albion-Bolton Community Centre from 1:00 – 2:00 pm. Bring your family out for a fun time on out on the ice. Go to the Facebook event page for more details.
