Happy New Year! Hope everyone has had a great winter break and are getting ready to get back to a normal routine starting on Monday. There are some fun activities going on in our communities this weekend for you to get out with the family and enjoy.

Friday

Friday is the last of the series of Free Holiday Skates at the Centre Dufferin Recreation Complex in Shelburne Sponsored by Tim Hortons at 12:00 pm. Get the kids and head out for some family fun on the ice as the winter break is winding down. Go to the Facebook event page for more details.

Saturday

If you live in the Burbank/Parkview area the Storm FC will be conducting a Bottle Drive in the area based at Ecole Elementary des Quatre-Rivieres on Saturday in support of the U12 Girls Soccer team. The players will be going door to door collecting donations of empty beer, wine and spirit bottles to help raise funds to support their team for the coming season. Sunday

Sunday there is a Free Family Stake Sponsored by Tim Hortons at the Alder Recreation Centre at 1:30 pm and 2:30 pm. For the last day of the winter break bring your whole family out and enjoy some time together on the ice on Sunday afternoon. Go to the Facebook event page for more details.

If you are in the Shelburne area every Sunday you can enjoy a Free Public Skate at the Centre Dufferin Recreation Complex at 1:00 pm. This is a great way to keep active in the cold winter months. For more details go to the Facebook event page.

The Alton Mill will be hosting Art Battle on Sunday, doors open at 2:00 pm. You can come out to the Alton Mill and see some talented artists transform blank canvases into beautiful pieces of art in only 20 minutes. If you got a Cricut for Christmas and are still trying to figure out what you can do with it check out the Create with your Cricut Class on Sunday at the Scrap Club in Hillsburgh.
