It’s Father’s Day weekend. There are some great events going on in our communities this weekend to enjoy with the whole family. Have a great weekend.

Friday night is the Canadian Cancer Society Relay for Life starting at 7:00 pm at the Orangeville Lions Club Sports Park on Dianne Drive. This is a great fund raiser for the Cancer Society, for more information or to make a donation go to convio.cancer.ca.

Friday is PC Eat Together Day so if you are in Orangeville head to Zhers or if you’re in Shelburne go to the No Frills and enjoy a free community barbecue from 3:00 – 6:00 pm.

Friday night Cheers Caledon 2019 is at the Caledon Civic Campus in Caledon East. This is a great opportunity to sample local craft beer and ciders as well as some top producing craft beverages from around Ontario. The gates open at 6:00 pm, go to the Facebook event page to purchase your tickets and for more information. There will be Guinness World Record attempt at the festival for the largest cider tasting, you will need to be present at the event at 6:30 pm to help set the record.

Start your Saturday morning right with a Public Bike Ride sponsored by the Town of Orangeville. Meet at Kin Family Park (485 College Ave.) at 9:00 am and join a group of riders as they bike through the trials and routes around Orangeville and make their way to the Orangeville Farmer’s Market. Saturday morning come down to Orangeville Town Hall from 8:00 am – 1:00 pm for the Orangeville Farmers Market. Come down and pick up some local produce and other items from all the great vendors at the market. Saturday is Caledon Day, it’s the biggest community event of the year. Head to the Caledon Civic Campus and enjoy some family friendly fun and entertainment, and live music all day and fireworks to close out the event. The festivities run from 2:00 – 11:00 pm, it should be a fun day. Go to the Facebook event page for more information and the musical line up and schedule.

Saturday and Sunday the 9th annual Orangeville Ram Rodeo in support of Big Brothers and Big Sisters Dufferin will be at the Orangeville Fairgrounds. Come see the action and excitement of live rodeo for yourself this weekend. For tickets and event information go to orangevilleramrodeo.com.

If we end up getting the rain that is in the forecast on Saturday, you can head over the Orangeville Public Library on Mill Street for the Family Movie Matinee. Bring your snacks and whole family for a screening of Captain Underpants. The Movie starts at 2:00 pm go to the Facebook event page for more details.

This weekend Orangeville Music Theatre will be presenting Willy Wonka Jr at the Orangeville Opera House. It’s always great to see the talented kids take to the stage and these shows are great fun for the whole family. If you are out on Saturday morning stop by the Orangeville Staples Parking lot for the Special Olympics Dufferin Annual Yard Sale from 8:30 am – 12:00 pm. All proceeds of the sale go to support these great athletes. Go to the Facebook event page for more details.

Saturday is the Shelburne Street Festival from 8:00 am – 4:00 pm there will be a car show, motorcycle show and shine, a kids zone, pet zone, live entertainment, and great vendors. This event is a great time go to shelburnestreetfest.com for all the details about this fun day.

It’s the 3rd annual Mulmur Day on Saturday. From 3:00 – 9:00 pm come out to the Mulmur Township Office on Second Line and enjoy great family activites, live music, local vendors and a pig roast for dinner. For more information go to the Mulmur Community Events Committee Facebook page.

The Headwaters House Tour will take place on Saturday from 9:00 am - 4:00 pm and  gives you access to unique and distinctive Headwaters homes – both interior and outdoor living spaces – that have been wonderfully appointed by talented designers, architects and homeowners. Saturday the Grand Valley Public Library will be hosting a Family S.T.E.M Building Day from 11:30 am – 2:30 pm. Stop by with your kids to build and create with a variety of different kits and building materials and robotics. Check out the Facebook event page.

Saturday from 10:00 am – 1:00 pm join the Edify Centre for their Build Your Happy Place Workshop. Through this guided workshop, you will learn how to use your creativity to build your own happy place. Using art supplies, you will be able to let your imagination guide you as you create a blueprint for your own happy place. Sunday bring your dad to the Museum of Dufferin for the Mulmur Farmers Market from 12:00 – 4:00 pm. Support the local vendors in this great location.
