Happy Canada Day Long Weekend. Here are some family friendly events going on this weekend in our communities. There are so many great Canada Day Celebrations planned for Monday, you’ll be sure to find something fun for your family to do.
Kick off your Canada Long Weekend on Friday evening with the 41st Annual Truck and Tractor Pull at the Albion Bolton Fairgrounds starting at 6:00 pm. This popular event is fun for the whole family. Go to the Facebook event page for more details about the show.
If you didn’t get a chance to see Orangeville Music Theatre’s production of Grease last weekend you will have another opportunity with shows at the Orangeville Opera House on Friday through Sunday. Head to orangevillemusictheatre.com for show times and to purchase your tickets.
Start your Saturday with a trip to the Orangeville Farmers Market. Come down to Second Street beside Town Hall from 8:00 am – 1:00 pm and pick up some thing up from all the great vendors. Go to the Orangeville Farmers Market Facebook page for more information about the Market.
Saturday the Town of Grand Valley will be hosting a Canada Day Celebration from 9:00 am – 10:00 pm. This event will feature lots of events around Town all day including soap box derby, car show, Main Street activities, and fireworks at night. Head down to the Brampton Fairgrounds, on Heart Lake Road, Saturday from 10:00 am – 10:30 pm for the Canada Day Carnival and Truck Show. There will be a large show and shine for trucks entertainment and vendors and activities for the kids and an attempt to make the largest human Maple Leaf. If you are out and about on Sunday afternoon check out the Mulmur Farmers Market at the Museum of Dufferin from 12:00 – 4:00 pm. There are some great vendors to check out. Go to the Mulmur Farmers Market Facebook page for more information.
Canada Day Celebrations
The Town of Orangeville will be hosting a Canada Celebration from 11:45 am – 5:00 pm at the Alder Recreation Centre. There will be free Public Swimming and the Great Canadian Lumberjack Show being offered all day. Go to the Facebook event page for more details.
The Town of Orangeville is also Sponsoring Canada Day Celebration at Island Lake Conservation Area on Monday. The event will begin with a performance by the Campfire Poets at the Island Lake Amphitheatre from 6:30 – 9:00 pm and the Fireworks display is set to start at 10:00 pm. Caledon Canada Day Celebration will be held at Albion Hills Conservation Area from 6:00 – 10:30 pm there are a whole host of events including music, strolling entertainers, tractor rides, wood carving demonstrations, archery lessons, food trucks, swimming pool and splash pad, hiking trails and more. All the fun will be followed up with a Fireworks display at 10:00 pm. Go to the Facebook event page for more details.
Shelburne Canada Day will be held at Fiddle Park from 6:00 – 11:00 pm. Come out and enjoy live music, the Artsploration Bus, Axe Throwing with Far Shot Recreation and other great activities. For more information about this event go the Facebook event page.
Canada Day means the Annual Strawberry Festival in Caledon. From 8:00 am – 4:00 pm go the Caledon Fairgrounds on Highway 10 for all things strawberries, a classic car show and some actives for the whole family. Go to www.caledonfair.ca for more information about the festival.
Downey’s Farm will be hosting a Canada Day Strawberry Festival from 9:00 am – 4:00 pm. There will be live entertainment, music, magic and Team K-9 dog show, and all the fun family activities that Downy’s farm is known for.
