It is a busy weekend ahead in Orangeville and in the surrounding area. It looks like there is something to do for everyone.

Friday night head to the Orangeville Fairgrounds for the Party Rockers Youth Dance Party from 7:00 – 10:00 pm. Bring your kids aged 7 – 13. This is a fun evening of music and dancing. Tickets are $15 at the door. Go to partyrockers.ca for more information about the event.

Also Friday night Mill Street will turn into Jurassicville for game 4 of the NBA Finals between the Toronto Raptors and the Golden State Warriors. Game starts at 9:00 pm remember to bring a lawn chair and dress for the weather.

The summer fair season continues with the Caledon Agricultural Society, Caledon Fair starting Friday and running through to Sunday. Come down to the Caledon Fairgrounds on Highway 10 and enjoy the midway with rides and games, vendors, and a demolition derby. For more details and the fair schedule go to caledonfair.ca.

The Compass Run for Food is Saturday morning, registration starts at 8:00 am. The event will be held at Compass Community Church and the run will leave from the church and go through the trails at Island Lake. Come out, to challenge yourself to either the 5 km run/walk or the 10 km run, bring your kids to participate in the fun run, or just help raise money for the Orangeville Food Bank and other local food initiatives. Saturday morning from 10:00 am – 12:30 pm Kushindokai Karate and Fitness will be hosting its 6th annual Kick-a-Thon in support of Dufferin Child and Family Services. All students of Kushindokai are eligible to participate and friends and family are welcome to stop by to support the students and help raise funds for DCAFS. Saturday morning the Orangeville Farmers Market will return to its regular location on Second Street beside Town Hall. Stop by and pick up some great local products from 8:00 am – 1:00 pm. Go to the Facebook event page for more details.

Saturday is Northmen Day 2019 at Tony Rose Arena starting a 10:00 am. There will be lots of fun things happening all day, face painting, colouring stations, skills competitions and a Northmen store to purchase swag. In the Hills Equine is hosting a Mini Farmer Drop-in on Saturday from 2:00 – 3:00 pm. Your mini farmers can meet the horses and participate in some age appropriate farm chores. Go to the Facebook event page for more details.

Saturday Equine Erin is hosting Horse Day in Erin at the Erin Fairgrounds. There will fun activities for the whole family starting at 8:00 am. Go to equineerin.com for a full schedule of events and activities or to purchase your tickets in advance.

Saturday from 12:00 – 8:00 pm the Erin Rotary Club will be hosting its third annual Rib Fest at McMillan Park in Erin. Stop by for some great food, live music, and activities for the whole family to enjoy. Go to the Facebook event page for more details about the event.

Theatre Orangeville along with Community Living Dufferin are presenting Dream Chaser at the Orangeville Opera House this weekend. This production is part of the Creative Partners on Stage (CPOS) partnership which provides educational and performance opportunities for adults with developmental disabilities. The Headwaters British Car Club will be hosting the HBCC HEADWATERS BRITISH CAR 5TH ANNUAL ALL BRITISH CAR SHOW on Saturday starting at 9:00 am at the Caledon Agricultural Society Fairgrounds on Highway 10. This event is raising funds for Hospice Dufferin so come down check out these classic and antique cars, enjoy some great food and music and help support a great cause. If you like Kites head down to the Brampton Kite Fest 2019 at Heart Lake Conservation Area. This event promises fun flying kites with great food and entertainment. Kite Fest will run Saturday and Sunday from 11:00 am – 4:00 pm. Go to the Facebook event page for more details.

Globetrotter RV Sales and Service is hosting a Grand Re-Opening of their location at 634131 Highway 10 in Mono on Saturday from 10:00 am – 5:00 pm. Stop by for a barbecue, music, a bouncy castle for the kids and while you’re there you can check out their inventory of RV’s and trailers to get you ready for camping this summer. On Sunday head to Ray’s 3rd Generation Bistro Bakery in Alton from 12:00 – 5:00 pm for the Sun’s Out Funds Out event in support of Bethel Hospice. The Island Lake Rowing Club will be hosting a Come & Try Day on Sunday form 9:00 am – 12:00 pm at Island Lake Conservation Area. If you have ever been curious to try rowing this is your chance to get out on the water and give it a try. Go to the Facebook event page for more details.

M Power will be hosting the Orangeville Stress Workshop at Alder Recreation Center – TD Canada Trust Room on Sunday from 1:00 – 4:00 pm. At this event girls ages 8+ will have the opportunity to discuss what stress feels like and ways to manage stress that they experience in every day life. Sunday you can head to the Museum of Dufferin for the Corn Flower Glass Festival as the MoD opens the new Corn Flower Glass Gallery from 10:00 am – 4:00 pm.
