It’s Mother’s Day weekend so take Mom out to enjoy some of the fun events going on around town and maybe treat her to a nice meal at one of the great restaurants our town has to offer.

Friday head to Simply Play Kids, they are hosting a Mother’s Day Vendor Event from 4:00 – 6:00 pm where you can pick up a great gift for mom and the kids will have a great time playing. Go to the Facebook event page for more details.

Friday Evening there is another Party Rockers Dance Party at the Orangeville Fairgrounds from 7:00 – 10:00 pm. This event is for children aged 7 – 13 for more information go to partyrockers.ca.

Start your Saturday with a trip to the Orangeville Farmers Market, outside Town Hall from 8:00 am – 1:00 pm. You can visit the local vendors find some items to make mom a great dinner or find a gift for your Mom. Also remember to bring your recycling bin to the Market as the County of Dufferin Waste Management will have compost for your garden available at the Market. On Saturday there is a Huntington’s Disease Fundraiser at Community Living Dufferin from 9:00 am – 2:00 pm. There will be vendors selling various items and raising money in support of Huntington’s Disease. Go to the Facebook event page for more details.

Chef About Town will have it’s first event of this great looking series at Rural Roots Catering, on Saturday at 6:00 pm. Join Chef Philip Dewar, formerly of Soulyve, as he joins the Rural Roots team for the evening and will prepare Carib-Fusion inspired dishes for an evening of food, cocktails and friends. Dufferin Garden Centre is hosing their Blossoms and Blooms Festival on Saturday and Sunday. Head over to the nursery for a celebration of Spring and maybe pick up some flowers for mom while you’re there. Go to the Facebook event page for more details.

Where You Are continues it’s run at the Orangeville Opera House this weekend. There are shows Friday and Saturday evening and a Sunday matinee, go to tickets.theatreorangeville.ca for tickets and showtimes.

Saturday Evening starting at 7:00 pm at the Mono Centre Community Centre, the Orangeville Army Cadets will be hosting a Yuk Yuks Comedy Fundraiser featuring Michael McCreary and Rob Bebenek. Go to dufferin.snapd.com for more details and to purchase your tickets.
