May is here and there are a number of fantastic events going on in our community this weekend.

Don't miss the Orangeville Farmers' Market Opening Day this Saturday from 8:00 am - 1:00pm outside Town Hall on Second Street. Fun for all ages with free face painting, free pancake breakfast courtesy of Orangeville Insurance, Pony rides/petting zoo and live entertainment. Come out to Community Living Dufferin for the Make A Difference Marketplace on Saturday from 10:00 am – 5:00 pm. The Marketplace is a unique, hand-selected Arts, Crafts and Vendor Show, just in time for Mother’s Day. Theatre Orangeville is presenting the World Premiere of Where You Are by Kristen Da Silva at the Orangeville Opera House. There are shows Friday and Saturday evening and Sunday afternoon. Also on Friday is the annual Star Light Gala, where you can get one ticket that will include dinner at one of two local resturants before the Firday evening performance. Spring Thaw: A Botanical Celebration! Saturday and Sunday at 10:00 am – 5:00 pm at the Alton Mill. Welcome spring with creativity and a celebration of blooms at the annual Spring Open House. Meet the Mill’s artists in their working studios, participate in art workshops, attend talks about gardening and pollination, practice yoga, & discover a special one-weekend-only "Spring Marketplace.” For more information about this event go to the Facebook event page.

Island Lake Shoreline Clean up is on Saturday at 9:00 – 11:00 am. Meet at the rental shop to sign in and pick up collection kits including: garbage/recycling bags and vinyl gloves. Shelburne Multi Cultural Day is on Saturday from 12:00 – 4:00 pm at Centre Dufferin District High School. Journey around the world, discover arts and crafts from different cultures that make our Shelburne community. Go to the Facebook event page for more details.

Quick Lane Orangeville is having it’s Grand Opening on Saturday at 12:00 – 5:00 pm. Quick Lane is Orangeville's newest automotive repair & maintenance shop, come out and see the Classic Batmobile and other Classic and Custom Cars, meet former NHL’er Jamie Macoun, and barbecue and refreshments. Starting a Vegetable Garden Workshop at Dufferin Garden Centre on Sunday from11:00 am – 12:30 pm. Vegetable gardening is a fun and rewarding outdoor activity where the whole family can get in on the action! Come out to this free workshop to learn more about starting your own vegetable garden. Caledon’s 1st Annual Building Better Relationships Conference is on Saturday from 9:30 am – 2:00 pm  at Rotary Place in Bolton. In this workshop hosted by the friend Christina Crowe and the team at Dig a Little Deeper Counselling you will learn strategies to help you build better relationships. Hike for Hospice takes place on Sunday at 12:00 pm at Monora Park. By attending this event you are supporting Hospice Dufferin and the palliative care service they provide in the County of Dufferin. God's Closet - Free Shop Day is on Sunday at 12:00 – 2:30 pm. Are your children growing faster than you can keep them clothed? God's Closet can help with our free shop days. Just pay $1 entrance fee at the door, then shop for free. We have children's clothing, shoes and bedding from newborn to age 16. Share with your friends, family, co-workers and neighbors.
