The 17th Annual Blues and Jazz Festival is the highlight of what is going on this weekend. There are a number of other events going on #AroundOrangeville for you to check out as well.

I really love bringing the whole family to the Orangeville Blues and Jazz Festival every year, it's such a great event with things to do for everyone. The Festival kicks off on Friday and runs through to Sunday. Don’t be intimidated if you are not familiar with this style of music this festival never disappoints. There will be tones of music all up and down Broadway at various outdoor venues and in all of the establishments downtown. This year the festival is introducing a kid’s zone for Saturday which will host several workshops and child friendly activities and another new feature will be performances at the Island Lake Amphitheatre. This is always a great time for everyone come and see why this is in the Top 100 Festivals in Ontario.

Friday from 11:00 am – 12:30 pm there will be a Free Family Swim at Alder Recreation Center. If you are looking for something to do during the day head over and take advantage of this free event. Go to the Facebook event page for more details about the swim.

The Orangeville Farmers Market will be moved to Broadway (between Second Street and Wellington) for this week due to the Blues and Jazz Festival. You will still be able to visit with all your favourite vendors on Saturday morning from 8:00 am – 1:00 pm. Go to the Facebook event page for more details.

After getting rained out last weekend Fiddlehead Care Farm will host Family Farm Visiting Day 2.0 on Saturday from 10:00 am – 12:00 pm. Bring the whole family out for a visit to Fiddlehead Care Farm for a morning of animals, nature, fun and adventure! Go to the Facebook event page for more details.

In the Hills Equine will be hosting their Pony Club on Saturday from 2:00 – 3:00 pm. Bring your children to learn more about the horses, perform some light farm chores and have some fun. Go to inthehillsequine.ca for more details and to register.

Help to support sending children with special needs to camp by supporting the Bellwood Lodge and Camp Fundraiser on Saturday in Bellwood from 9:00 am – 5:00 pm. This all ages event will feature games, craft vendors, silent auction, bake sale, face-painting, live performance, and food provided by Groovy Grilled Cheese. On Saturday Center Fellowship Church will be hosting their Community Appreciation Day from 11:00 am to 2:00 pm. There will be a free BBQ lunch and live music, as well as face painting and an ambulance tour for the young at heart. Red’s Garage will be hosting a Grand Opening Open House on Saturday to show off their expanded space. You can stop by connect with other motorcyclists at who are attending the Blues and Jazz Festival and see what they have been up to at Reds. On Sunday Sweet Peas will host its Spring Mud Bog. Registration begins at 9:00 am and the competitions begin at 12:30 pm and will go all afternoon. Bring your truck to compete or just to try it out the play area. There will be truck and ATV competitions and a demolition style Mad Max race to close out the day. Looking for some unique gifts go to the Kick Off to Summer Market at the Orangeville & District Seniors Centre on Bythia on Sunday from 10:00 am – 2:00 pm and see what the 30+ vendors have to offer, participate in the raffles and draws and help raise money for the International Down Syndrome Community. The Optimist Club's Junior Golf Qualifying Tournament for 2019 will be held on Sunday, June 2, 2019 at Shelburne Golf & Country Club. The deadline for registrations and payment is June 1, 2019. The Mulmur Farmers Market will be held again on Sunday at the Museum of Dufferin. The market runs from 12:00 – 4:00 pm, head out to the this great location and show some support to the local vendors.

One last minute addition is on Sunday at 8:00 pm Orangeville will have its very own Jurassic Park set up on Mill Street for Game 2 of the NBA Finals between the Toronto Raptors and the Golden State Warriors. GO RAPS GO!
