The weather has taken a turn this week with some bitter temps, in preparation for Santa Claus to make his appearance in Orangeville this weekend. There is a lot of fun for the whole family and some great town traditions going on this weekend. Hope to see you out.

Celebrate Christmas in Orangeville

Friday Night Orangeville tradition Moonlight Magic and the Tractor Parade of Lights will come to Downtown Orangeville from 6:00 – 9:00 pm. Come out and shop at some of the great local stores on Broadway, a great lineup of local performances, and annual Town Hall Christmas Tree lighting will take place at 7:00. The Kids can enjoy a visit with Santa Claus and the Tractor Parade of Lights will begin at 8:00 pm. Saturday Santa Claus is coming to town at the 2019 Kin Club of Orangeville Santa Claus Parade from 4:30 – 7:00 pm. The parade route will begin at the Orangeville Mall and will head up First Street turn left on Broadway and come down Broadway and will end at Rotary Park. Remember to bring either non-perishable food items or monetary donations for the Orangeville Foodbank. For more information about the Santa Clause Parade go to orangevillekin.ca.

Holiday Photos

If you are looking to have some pictures with Santa the Terra Cotta Country Store will be hosting Photos with Santa on Sunday from 1:00 – 3:00 pm. All photos are by donation with proceeds to the Choose 2 Be Resilient scholarship fund honouring the lives of Zach Sutherland and Kaya Firth. For more details go to terracottacountrystore.ca.

Looking for a unique family photo this Christmas, go to the Alton Mill for Photos With The Grinch. Starting this weekend and running until December 1 you can go to the Alton Mill on Saturday and Sunday and get a family photo with the Grinch from 10:00 am – 4:00 pm. FEMKE Photography is booking appointments for the morning and from 12:30 – 4:00 pm availability will be on a first come first serve basis. For more details go to the Facebook event page.

Friday Evening the Village of Erin BIA will kick off the holiday season with Window Wonderland 2019, starting at 6:00 pm. Shop, dine and celebrate in the Town of Erin, enjoy the tree lighting ceremony at 6:30 pm and all the great local shops will be open until 9:00 pm. Go to villageoferin.com for more details.

Friday evening the Alton Mill will be staying open late so you can go out and pick up some unique gifts for the people on your Christmas list. The Mill will be open until 9:00 pm allowing you a chance to get a head start on Christmas shopping. Go to altonmill.ca for more details.

Saturday

Saturday the Orangeville Farmers Market returns to Town Hall from 9:00 am – 1:00 pm. Come out and support your favourite vendors all year long at the indoor market. For more details go to the Orangeville Farmers Market Facebook page.

Saturday the Orangeville Public Library will be hosting a Family Movie Matinee at the Mill Street Library featuring Solo: A Star Wars Story starting at 2:00 pm. Bring some snacks and come out to enjoy this movie with the whole family. Go to orangeville.ca for more details.

Saturday from 8:00 am – 12:00 pm you can check out the Maples Christmas Market at the Maples Academy. You can check out some great local vendors, pick up some holiday crafts, baking, décor items and take part in the silent auction. Go to the Facebook event page for more details.

Saturday at Monora Park Pavilion check out the Town of Mono 3R’s Christmas Bazaar from 10:00 am – 4:00 pm.  Pick up some great Christmas crafts and décor items from some great local vendors. Go to and the Facebook Event Page for more information.

The Bethel Hospice Christmas Market is on Saturday from 9:00 am – 2:00 pm at the Caledon Country Club. Come out and get your Christmas shopping started with some handmade items, jewelry, and other unique gifts or treat yourself to some great baked goods and other treats. This market helps raise funds for the Bethel Hospice so get out and support a great cause. Go to foundation.bethellhospice.org.

Saturday from 9:00 am – 2:00 pm stop by the Orangeville Legion for the Legion Auxiliary Christmas Craft and Bake Sale. Come out and support the Legion and pick up some great Christmas crafts, handmade items, and baked goods. You are asked to bring a donation to the Orangeville Foodbank go to rcl233.com for more information.

If you or your children are thinking about post-secondary education Georgian College will be hosting an Open House at the Orangeville Campus on Saturday from 9:00 am – 12:00 pm. Sunday join Shop with Purpose Markets for the Holiday Kick-Off Market in support of The Alzheimer’s Society of Dufferin at Monora Park from 10:00 am – 4:00 pm. Sunday the Hockley Valley Resort Ski Swap will be taking place between 10:00 am and 2:00 pm at the resort. Come out and pick up some great used ski and snowboard equipment for the upcoming season. Go to hockley.com for more information about the ski swap.
