If all the excitement of last weekend got you into the Christmas spirit there are a whole host of holiday events going on in our communities this weekend to keep the excitement going.
All Weekend Long
Pottery Parties Studio will be opening up their shop to host Photos with Santa at their location at the Mill Street Mall starting on Saturday and Sunday. Santa will be available at the store for photos on weekends until December 22. Go to the Facebook event page for more details and times.
FEMKE Photography continues Photos with the Grinch at the Alton Mill this Saturday and Sunday. Come out and get a unique family photo for your Christmas Cards or your memories. Go to the Facebook event page for more details.
LP Stage Productions will be opening its performance of Frozen Jr. at the Grace Tippling Theatre in Shelburne with shows Friday through Sunday. Bring the family to see this stage production of the hit Disney film Frozen. For tickets and more details go to lpstageproductionsinc.com.
The Teak Barn in Erin will be hosting their annual Christmas Market on Saturday and Sunday from 10:00 am – 5:00 pm. With over 20 local artists you can find a unique gift for someone on your Christmas list. Vendors will feature artwork, silver jewelry, knitwear and more. Go to teakbarn.ca for more information.
The Mill Street Mall will be running a Christmas Market inside the mall starting on Saturday and running seven days a week until December 23. There will be a variety of local vendors set up throughout the mall offering a variety of gift ideas for this Christmas. Saturday
The Orangeville Christmas Market will be at the Orangeville Fairgrounds on Saturday from 10:00 am – 3:00 pm. Come out and shop from the amazing collection of vendors that will be on hand and you can get a start on your holiday shopping. Admission is free however the organizers are asking for a donation to the Orangeville Food Bank. Check out the Facebook Event Page for more details.
Heatherlea Farm Shoppe will be hosting Christmas at the Farm on Saturday from 11:00 am – 3:00 pm. Bring the whole family and enjoy a visit and photo with Santa, a cookie decorating station, prizes and raffles and sampling of seasonal food and beverages. Admission is $10 with the proceeds going to the SickKids Foundation. For tickets and more information go to heatherlea.shop.
Saturday, Spirit Tree Estate Cidery will be hosting a Christmas Open House from 10:00 am – 4:00 pm. Come out and enjoy a tour of the facilities, Christmas carols sung by the Orange Peel Carollers, and sample some of Spirt Trees baked goods. The Spirit Tree Bistro will be launching its new winter menu starting at the open house. For more details go to spirittreecider.com.
The 19th Annual Silent Auction and Christmas Bazaar will be held at Tweedsmuir Presbyterian Church on Saturday from 8:30 am – 1:00 pm. Hundreds of items available in the silent auction and you can also shop from a wide range of baked goods and crafts. Go to the Facebook event page for more details.
The Orangeville Seniors’ Centre Christmas Bazaar will take place on Saturday from 9:00 am – 1:00 pm at the Seniors Centre on Bythia Street in Orangeville. Sunday
If you are looking to have your picture taken with Santa this year go to Santa Day at Greenhawk Orangeville on Sunday from 12:00 – 4:00 pm. They will be collecting monetary donations for the Orangeville SPCA in exchange for you or your pet (or both of you) having your picture with Santa. Christmas in the Valley is on Sunday, from 10:00 am – 4:00 pm at the Grand Valley Community Centre. Come out and buy gifts, crafts, and other items from a large selection of vendors. Donations will be accepted for the Grand Valley Food Bank. For more details go to calendar.townofgrandvalley.ca.
Christmas Trees
The season has started for you to pick up a real Christmas Tree. There are a couple of local farms that are opening this weekend for you to pick up your tree.
Elliot Tree Farm Opens on Saturday and will be open daily from 9:00 am – Dusk until December 23. Come out to the farm and you can cut your own tree, pick up a fresh-cut tree, check out the farm shop, keep yourself warm by the bonne fire and enjoy some treats from the food truck or some hot chocolate. Hockley Valley Farm opens on Saturday and will be open from 11:00 am during the week and 9:00 am on weekends until dusk. Come out and pick your fresh cut tree, cut your own tree, enjoy some hot chocolate, and horse-drawn sleigh rides and check out the Christmas store for some unique gifts. Adams Tree Farm opens on Saturday and will be open on weekends from 9:00 am to dusk. You can cut your own or pick from the fresh-cut trees available at the farm, they also have a farm shop and hayrides. For more information go to adamstreefarms.ca
Fandango Tree Farm will be opening on Saturday and will be open weekends from 9:00 am – 4:00 pm. You can go out and cut your own tree to bring home and set up for the holiday season. Go to fandangotreefarm.com for more information.
