It’s Black Friday. Have you been out to the stores already to get all the hottest deals in town, or are you just letting this day come and go like any other? Either way, there are some great family events going on in our communities this weekend.

All Weekend Long

Theatre Orangeville will be opening its production of Little Women this weekend at the Orangeville Opera House with shows all weekend long and running until December 22. LP Stage Productions Frozen Jr. will return to Grace Tippling Hall in Shelburne this weekend with shows Friday through Sunday. Come out and support everyone who has worked so hard to put on this show. For more information and tickets go to eventbrite.com.

The Holiday Treasures Arts and Crafts Sale will open at the Museum of Dufferin on Saturday and will be open until December 15. Stop by and find some unique gifts for the people on your Christmas list. Go to dufferinmuseum.com for more details.

Family Pictures

Pottery Parties Studio will once again be hosting Photos with Santa at their studio in the Mill Street Mall. Stop by on Saturday or Sunday and get your picture with Santa. Go to the Facebook event page for more details.

Santa will be at the Alder Recreation Centre starting on Sunday from 11:00 am – 5:00 pm with the same Santa and set from the Orangeville Mall. Due to the large-scale renovations being undertaken at the mall currently, the Town of Orangeville, F Stop and the owner of the Mall have made arrangements for Santa to be relocated to the Alder Recreation Centre between this Sunday and Christmas. This is the final weekend for Pictures with the Grinch at the Alton Mill by FEMKE Photography. Come out on Saturday or Sunday and get a unique family Christmas picture with the Grinch. Go to the Facebook event page for more details.

Friday

Chilli Fest 2019 in support of Big Brothers Big Sisters of Dufferin is on Friday from 11:30 am – 2:00 pm. You can pick up so chili to go or stop into the pop-up shop at Odd Fellows hall and enjoy a bowl of delicious chili provided by Lavender Blue Catering. Friday evening is the annual Town of Grand Valley Tree Lighting Ceremony starting at 7:00 pm at the Grand Pavilion. Come out and enjoy some holiday music, treats and bring a decoration to help decorate the community Christmas tree. Go to calendar.townofgrandvalley.ca for more details.

Remember in all the hustle of Black Friday to support our local business owners. This weekend join the Downtown Orangeville BIA for Black Friday and Small Business Saturday and come out and get some great deals on gifts for everyone on your Christmas shopping list while supporting some of the amazing small business owners who operate their shops in our downtown. Saturday

Saturday at the Alder Recreation Centre come out and see a great display of hockey as the members of the Professional Women’s Hockey Players Association play an exhibition game at 2:00 pm. See some of the best women’s hockey players in the world live on the ice as team Jenner takes on team Spooner. Tickets are $10.00, go to pwhpa.com for more details and to purchase your tickets.

The Orangeville Farmers Market will once again return to the Orangeville Town Hall for the winter market from 10:00 am - 1:00 pm. Come out and pick up some great items from your favourite vendors at the Market. For more information go to the Orangeville Farmers Market Facebook page.

Shop with Santa will be at the Centre Dufferin Recreation Complex in Shelburne on Saturday from 10:00 am – 3:00 pm. There will be a large selection of local vendors and the Secret Kid's only shopping area. You will also be able to have your picture taken with Santa between 12:00 and 2:00. The Caledon East Public School Craft Sale is on Saturday from 9:00 am – 2:00 pm. You can pick up some holiday gifts and décor items from a great selection of local artisans and vendors. For more information go to the Facebook event page.

Saturday is the Grand Valley Santa Claus Parade starting at 7:00 pm. Come out and see the floats and help welcome Santa to town, then enjoy a free public skate and visits with Santa at the Community Centre. For more details go to the Facebook event page.

Saturday is the Erin District Lions Club Santa Claus Parade starting at 11:00 am. Bring the kids and welcome Santa to Erin. For more information go to the Facebook event page.

The Hillsburgh Annual Holiday Tree Lighting is on Saturday from 5:00 – 8:30 pm. Come out and celebrate the community with some refreshments, a visit with Santa, followed by free public skating. Go to the Facebook event page for more details.

The Shelburne Public Library will be hosting its Annual Silent Auction and Bake Sale on Saturday from 10:00 am – 4:00 pm. Come out and bid on some great items or pick up some books for the holidays. Go to shelburnelibrary.ca for more details.

Fromage is hosting an Open House on Saturday from 11:00 am – 3:00 pm. Stop the store on Broadway and enjoy some appetizers and sample some great seasonal cheeses. The Feral Cat Rescue Shelter will be hosting its Grand Opening on Saturday afternoon from 1:00 – 4:00 pm.
