Hope everyone had a great Thanksgiving weekend and you have gotten over your turkey slumber. If you are looking for something to do this weekend there are some great events going on in our communities for you to enjoy.

Seasonal Events

Pumpkin Fest at Sweet Pea's Farm continues this weekend. Sweet Pea's Farm will be open 10:00 am – 5:00 pm daily until Halloween. There are a whole host of activities for the kids and adults alike and with each paid admission you receive a pumpkin. Go to the Facebook event page for more details about Pumpkin Fest.

Downey’s Farm Pumpkinfest is still running through to Halloween daily from 10:00 am – 5:00 pm. Head down to the farm to enjoy all the regular activities in the kids play area, the massive corn maze and many Halloween themed additions. Go to downeysfarm.com for more information about the event.

Orangeville’s local Griswold’s of Halloween, Trina Scott and Shawn Hynes have completed their Giant Haunted Halloween Display at their home located at 82 Mill Street. You can stop by to check out this elaborate Halloween display nightly between 7:00 – 10:00 pm from now until Halloween. Check out the Facebook event page for more details.

Saturday take part in the Harvest Celebration in Downtown Orangeville where the kids can give their Halloween costumes a trial run and trick or treat up and down all the shops along Broadway. There will be face painting and a petting zoo set up behind townhall from 9:00 am – 1:00 pm and many of the local shops will be giving away candy to trick or treaters starting at 10:00 am through noon. If you are looking for some Halloween fun head to Sweet Pea’s Farm for the second evening of the Haunted Forest on Saturday evening from 7:00 – 10:00 pm. I was at the farm last weekend and walked the haunted forest during the day time and I think if you are into giving yourself a scare this would be the perfect place to go. Saturday you can take part in The Haunting of Ballinafad 2019 starts on Saturday where you can experience a community based indoor haunted house. You can enjoy a kid friendly walkthrough from 4:00 – 5:00 pm or the Adult haunting from 8:00 – 10:00 pm. For more information go to the Facebook event page.

All Weekend Long

This weekend Theatre Orangeville has opened its latest production written by Norm Foster Come Down From Up River with performances this weekend at the Orangeville Opera House. Saturday

When you are Downtown Orangeville be sure to stop by the Orangeville Farmers Market from 8:00 am – 1:00 pm for the final outdoor market of the Season. You can pick up a selection of in season produce and local products from the great vendors of the market.  Go to the Orangeville Farmers Market Facebook page for more information about the market.

As part of Harvest Celebration stop by the Orangeville Public Library on Saturday morning from 10:00 am – 1:00 pm for their annual Book and Bake Sale. You can select a great book and some tasty treats and help support the local library. Go to the Facebook event page for more details.

Join the Orangeville Public Library on Mill Street for a Family Movie Matinee screening of Goosebumps 2: Haunted Halloween at 2:00 pm. Bring your family and some snacks and enjoy the movie at the Library. Go to orangeville.ca for more details.

Saturday at Trainer Games in Shelburne you can take part in the Extreme ALS Ice Dunk from 1:00 – 4:00 pm. There will be live music, great food and entertainment and the main event with your donation you can take a shot to dunk one of the brave volunteers in the dunk tank of ice cold water. Sunday

On Sunday help support the local Food Bank at Empty Bowls Caledon/Orangeville 2019 at the Alton Mill. With the purchase of your ticket you will be have a tasting of a soup prepared and donated by some great local restaurants served in a hand-crafted bowl that you get to keep at the end of the event. There are two seating’s, lunch at 11:30 am – 2:00 pm and dinner from 3:30 – 5:00 pm. For more details on the event and where to get your tickets go to annranderaadpottery.com.
