All week it has been feeling like summer has made a late return and just in time for a busy weekend of events going on in our Communities. Here are some of the Family Friendly events going on #AroundOrangeville this weekend.

It is still Fall Fair season and there are few local Fall Fairs to choose from.

The Grand Valley Fall Fair will be running Friday to Sunday with many events for the whole family to enjoy. Mixing new events with traditional standbys be sure to check out the FMX Riders show, the Talent show, tractor pulls and demolition derby among other things. The Bolton Fall Fair will be held at the Albion Hills Fairgrounds Friday through Sunday. With the theme of Cows and Plows be sure to stop by and enjoy some of the fun a this years fair. Go to boltontractorpull.ca for a list of all the events going on this weekend.

The Acton Fall Fair will be running Friday to Sunday at Prospect Park in Halton Hills. This fair makes the claim to being the “Best Little Fair in Ontario” with some great events for the whole family. For a full schedule of events and more information about the Fair go to actonfair.ca.

Theatre Orangeville will be showing a production of Dean & Jerry: What Might Have Been this weekend at the Orangeville Opera House. This production brings you many of memorable duo of Dean Martin and Jerry Lewis and asks the question what might have been if they hadn’t split up. Some local farms are starting their Halloween themed activities 

Sweet Peas Pumpkin Fest kicks off this weekend. Sweet Peas farm will be open 10:00 am – 5:00 pm daily starting Saturday until Halloween. There are a whole host of activities for the kids and adults alike and with each paid admission you receive a pumpkin. Go to the Facebook event page for more details about Pumpkin Fest.

Downey’s Farm Pumpkinfest begins this Saturday and runs daily 10:00 am - 5:00 pm all the way though to Halloween. Head down to the farm to enjoy all the regular activities in the kids play area, the massive corn maze and many Halloween themed additions. Friday

In celebration of Legion Week the Erin Legion will be hosting a Pig Roast on Friday evening from 6:00 – 8:00 pm for a delicious meal and some live entertainment. Go the Facebook event page for more information.

Saturday

Saturday join the Orangeville Public Library on Mill Street for a Family Movie Matinee screening of Jumangi: Welcome to the Jungle at 2:00 pm. Be sure the bring some snacks and enjoy this family film with the whole family. Go to the Facebook event page for more details.

Saturday morning check out the Orangeville Farmers Market from 8:00 am – 1:00 pm. It’s a great time of year for local produce so be sure to pick up some fresh seasonal fruit and vegetables as well as: supporting the other great vendors that make our local farmers market so great.

Saturday Join the Orangeville SPCA for the Friends For Life Walk at Island Lake Conservation Area from 9:30 am – 2:30 pm. This is a pet friendly event and you can participate in the walk or just take part in the activities going on and help raise funds for pets and animals in need in our community. Saturday at Mono Cliffs Provincial Park you can take part in the 8th Annual Chase the Coyote Trail Race.  There are various courses from 5.7 km all the way to the 50 km route, taking racers through the Mon Cliffs where you can enjoy the beautiful fall scenery. Registration begins at 7:30 am and proceeds go to support Procyon Wildlife. Go to chasethecoyote.com to register and for more information.

Saturday at Everdale Organic Farm in Erin you can check out the Carrot Stock Music Festival running from 12:00 – 8:00 pm. If your kids are into drawing and art Eraser Tip Art Classes is hosting Saturday Morning Cartoons from 9:00 – 10:30 am on Saturdays at their location on Stewart Court. You kids will learn different drawing styles and meet some like minded budding artists. Go to the Eraser Tip Art Classes Facebook page for more information about these classes.

Déjà vu Diner is hosting That’s My Drag Brunch on Saturday starting at 11:30 am in support of Family Transition Place. That’s My Drag is a professional traveling Drag Show and will be performing at the dinner. Your ticket purchase includes brunch and the show contact Déjà vu Diner to purchase tickets.

Join Don’s Heating and Cooling for the Grand Opening of their new showroom at 308 Broadway on Saturday from 10:00 am – 3:00 pm. Stop by for some deals and giveaways and there will be a charity BBQ in support of Family Transition Place. For more information go to donsheatingandcooling.com.

Sunday

On Sunday the 7th Annual Ferguson Memorial Walk in support of Family Transition Place at Island Lake Conservation Area from 9:00 am – 3:00 pm. You can participate in the walk and enjoy the trails at Island Lake and take part in all of the family friendly activities going on including bouncy castles, carnival games, dunk tank, and local vendors. Sunday in Inglewood you can participate in the Riverdale Fitness Mill Beer Run and Festival from 10:00 am – 4:00 pm. You can come by and participate in the run or just enjoy the festivities including local craft beers, food trucks and live music. Go to the Facebook event page for more information.
