Fall is officially here and with it brings a number of great local events for the whole family to enjoy.

Fairs

It’s a quiet weekend for Fall Fairs but you can still find some Fair Fun this weekend. The Milton Fall Fair is running this weekend Friday to Sunday at the Milton Fairgrounds. You can enjoy some great food, a midway, live entertainment and so much more. Go to miltonfair.com for more details and schedule of events.

Pumpkin Festivals

Sweet Peas Pumpkin Fest is still going and will be open 10:00 am – 5:00 pm daily starting until Halloween. There are a whole host of activities for the kids and adults alike and with each paid admission you receive a pumpkin. Go to the Facebook event page for more details about Pumpkin Fest.

Downey’s Farm Pumpkinfest continues this weekend and runs daily from 10:00 am - 5:00 pm all the way though to Halloween. Head down to the farm to enjoy all the regular activities in the kids play area, the massive corn maze and many Halloween themed additions. Friday

Friday Night at the Headwaters Racquet Club is Kids Night Out – Paint Night from 5:30 – 8:30 pm. This event will allow kids aged 4 – 12 to explore their artistic side and enjoy an evening with friends. A canvas to take home, paint, pizza dinner and snacks are included with your ticket. Saturday

Saturday from 9:00 am – 4:00 pm is the Dufferin Farm Tour. This is a great event where local farms open their door to the general public and the whole family can explore and learn more about the farm industry and see some areas of Dufferin County that you may not have visited before. Bring the whole family and join the Friends of Island Lake at Island Lake Conservation Area to help with the Annual Shoreline Clean-up on Saturday from 10:00 am – 12:00 pm. Help keep the conservation area looking great. Go to cvc.ca for more information about the event.

Saturday is the Salamander Festival in Belfountain and at the Belfountain Conservation Area from 10:00 am – 4:00 pm. There will be live music, food an opportunity to meet and learn about salamanders with some hands on educational programing. Go to belfountain.ca/salamander-festival for more details.

Saturday morning check out the Orangeville Farmers Market from 8:00 am – 1:00 pm. It’s a great time of year for local produce so be sure to pick up some fresh seasonal fruit and vegetables as well as supporting the other great vendors that make our local farmers market so great. Saturday from 10:30 am – 12:30 pm come to the Orangeville Public Library for the Zero Waste Workshop presented by Zero Waste Caledon. In this workshop you will learn strategies to reduce the amount of waste you produce and the impact you have on the environment. Go to eventbrite.ca to purchase your tickets.

Saturday join SMART Organizing at St. Timothy’s Church for a Community Yard Sale from 8:00 am – 2:00 pm. There will be a number of vendors and you can stop by to find some deals and help raise funds to help the church. Go to the Facebook event page for more details.

Saturday the Shop With Purpose Market will be hosting the Fall in Love with Local  Market, at the Monora Park Pavilion from 10:00 am – 3:00 pm. There will be a number of local vendors offering their goods and the event is helping raise funds for Many Hands Doing Good and will be asking for monetary donations. Saturday from 11:00 am – 6:00 pm at Spirt Tree Estates Cidery you can shop at the Sip & Shop Pop Up Handcrafted Market. Featuring over 30 local vendors, food and Spirit Tree Estates Cider you can find some unique gifts and funds from the admission fees will be raised for Family Transition Place. Sunday

Sunday is the First Annual Toys for Terry Ride from 9:00 am – 3:00 pm at Pita Pit, 40 Broadway, in Orangeville. This event will be accepting donations of new toys that will be donated to Family Transition Place and the Salvation Army and $1 from every pita and smoothie sale at Pita Pit for the day will be donated to the Orangeville Northmen Benevolent Fund. There will be some activities for the kids with bouncy castles, magicians, face painting and you can meet the JR. A Northmen and have your picture taken with the Minto Cup and there will be 50+ motorcycles on display. Go to the Facebook event page for more information and schedule for the activities.

Culture Days

The 49th Annual Art Show and Sale presented by the Orangeville Art Group is running this weekend as part of Culture Days. Saturday and Sunday come to the Orangeville Town Hall and you will have the opportunity to view and purchase works by several local artists. For more information go to orangevilleartgroup.com.
